Licensing Compliance Courses ( 8 & 16 Hour duration)

These are the state mandated unarmed security guard courses

8- Hour Pre-Assignment

This is the first step in obtaining your NYS Unarmed Security Guard License. These classes are typically held on either a Saturday or a Sunday for 8 hours. Weekday night classes are also available on request.

16-Hour OJT

This course is required to be taken within 90 days of obtaining your NYS Unarmed Security Guard License. These classes are held once monthly on a Saturday & Sunday.

8-Hour Annual In-Service

This is the yearly refresher course you need to maintain your NYS Unarmed Security Guard License. hese classes are typically held on either a Saturday or a Sunday for 8 hours. Weekday night classes are also available on request.

Elective Courses (4 Hour duration)

These courses are developed to help refine your security skillset

Nightlife Security Tactics

This 4 hour course is essential for any security guard looking to excel in the nightlife industry. It will introduce the security guard to the basics of the nightlife industry and cover topics such as:

Threat Identification & Risk Assessment
Conflict De-Escalation & Managing Aggressive Behavior
Crowd Control & Emergency Response
Crime Prevention & Handling Incidents

Supervisor Prep Course

This training is a 4 hour course that prepares you to elevate your career as a security professional by providing you with an indepth look at what it takes to supervise a security team. Topics covered include:

Leadership & Team Management
Shift Operations & Decision Making
Conflict Resolution & De-Escalation Strategies
End of Shift Responsibilities& Documentation

Hospitality Emphasis

In this training, security professionals will learn how to balance safety and customer service, communicate effectively, and enhance guest experiences while maintaining a secure environment. Topics covered will include:

Defining Hospitality in Security
The Importance of First Impressions
Situational Awareness with a Hospitality Mindset

All classes are scheduled once enough students have signed up. Licensing and compliance classes are typically held during daytime hours and in person only.
